Naomi WolfAuthor, social critic, and political activist Naomi Wolf raises awareness about the pervasive inequities that exist in society and politics. She encourages people to take charge of their lives, voice their concerns and offers specific ways to enact change.
Wolf’s landmark international bestseller, The Beauty Myth, challenged the cosmetics industry and the marketing of unrealistic standards of beauty, launching a new wave of feminism in the early 1990s. The New York Times called it one of the most important books of the 20th century. Her new book, Vagina: A New Biography, was released in September 2012.
Wolf is a regular columnist for both The Guardian US and Project Syndicate. She’s a frequent blogger for The Huffington Post and writes cultural commentary for The Washington Post and Harper’s Bazaar. Her TV appearances include Meet the Press, The Joy Behar Show, and The Colbert Report.
Power, Sex and The Feminine"Is a greater awareness of the divine feminine emerging in the world? If so, what would that mean? When she wrote Vagina: A New Biography, Wolf was surprised to find that the discussion of 'the divine feminine' and 'the Goddess', a concept that many cultures take for granted, proved to be the most controversial and even outrageous premise in the book, to many Western critics - even though many readers expressed how much they longed for this ideal to manifest, and how healing they found it to be in terms of their sexuality and self-image.
Why is this idea of the Goddess -- a concept that remains highly controversial in our Western (and often alienated) contexts -- such a lightning rod? How are respect for female desire and sexuality, and a greater empowerment of women politically and socially, connected? What does it even mean to recognize and embrace 'the divine feminine', even 'the Goddess' within, and how would that help to heal our incredibly damaged, battered constructs of women, female desire and sex, and the female body?
Wolf will explore the ways that what many students of archetypal symbolism have called 'the divine feminine' -is re-emerging into political, social and cultural life, the amazing and various forms that that re-emergence takes, and the redemptive effect that that will have on us as a species, and on our home as a planet.'

- What if you're really (or not at all) attracted to her?
- How have sex and relationships changed since you started to OM?
- Are you just doing this to get sex?

Barrie ColeBarrie Cole is a writer, performer, and playwright from Chicago. Her most recent play, "Elevator Tours," the third in her trilogy about relationships premiered in January of this year to sold-out houses and was called an "unmitigated triumph of perversity." Critic Tony Adler wrote, "Cole mounts a powerful attack on our expectations. Her script becomes a kind of micro-tragedy, about two people using every ounce of their intelligence, creativity, goofy comic sensibilities, and vast immaturity to defeat whatever makes the most sense." In addition to writing plays, Cole is completing a book of short stories entitled, Fascinating Mistakes. Cole has been writing and performing her solo work both nationally and in Chicago for many years including numerous alphabet performances on a wide variety of themes, some of which include: Home, Sugar, Bisexuality, Sports, Divorce, Pleasure, Literature and Love. Early in her career, reviewer Carol Burbank said, "Sometimes Cole seems a hybrid of Gertrude Stein and Kali, exulting in the musicality of language even as she breaks the world open like a rotten egg." She is still doing exactly that.

Her live act consists partly of soulful, electronic grooves paired with clever, disarming lyrics. Sometimes she's pounding away at her toy piano, sometimes she's strumming her ukelele, but either way you've never danced (or blushed) so passionately to experimental folk before you've been to a Rachel Lark show. Her latest appearances at Bawdy Storytelling in San Francisco have afforded her the opportunity to explore her comedic and kinky side by writing charming little ditties about flower sex, sexting and many other timely topics.
